About TICO
Located in Perth, Western Australia, we are a volunteer-run organisation designed to offer friendly, relaxed ensemble opportunities for young and old.
To join, no auditions are required! Instead of auditions, we offer prospective members 2 trial sessions at no cost to you, which gives you the opportunity to see if we might be a good fit for your orchestral needs.
Members belong to at least one of our orchestras, and membership allows you to attend both orchestras if you have the time, passion and inclination! Some members play in both the Dorkestra and Awkwardstra, periodically swapping between them, and we have a few people who play regularly in both orchestras!
Our 2025 Ensembles are:
- The Dorkestra – an intermediate and advanced ensemble for adult string and woodwind players (North Fremantle Community Hall, 7:30-9:30 p.m.)
- The Awkwardstra – an intermediate ensemble for adult string and woodwind players (Building 304, Curtin University, Bentley, 7:00-9:00 p.m.)
- The String Beans – for primary school students developing technique and performance skills (North Fremantle Community Hall, 4:00-5:30 p.m.)
